Astrology Course – Class 1 | Learn Vedic Astrology from Basics
Applied Astrology is designed to make astrology practical and easier to understand by connecting astrological concepts with real-life situations. Rather than learning astrology only as a theoretical subject, the approach focuses on how its principles can be applied to everyday questions and situations.
The course begins with the fundamentals, making it suitable even for people who have no previous knowledge of astrology. It introduces astronomy, the universe, zodiac signs, the 12 Rashis, the elliptical cycle, Nakshatras, Panchabhutas, the 12 houses or Bhavas, and the significance of different planets and houses. It also explains the differences between North Indian, South Indian, and Western astrology systems.
A major part of the course focuses on predictive astrology. In simple terms, predictive astrology uses planetary positions and astrological calculations, followed by analysis, logic, and reasoning, to interpret possible future events or experiences. The course presents this as a process of moving from understanding planetary positions to analyzing them and making predictions.
One of the important concepts introduced is Jotisha, the Sanskrit term commonly used for astrology. The course explains Jotisha as the “study of light” and connects this concept with understanding how celestial light and planetary influences are interpreted in astrology.
Students are also introduced to different astrological traditions and methodologies, including the Parasari system, Jaimini Sutras, Lal Kitab, Nadi astrology, Stellar Astrology, KP methodology, DNA Astrology, Greek astrology, Western astrology, and Chinese astrology. The course places particular emphasis on the Stellar method for predictive astrology.
Another important foundation is understanding the 12 zodiac signs. The zodiac is divided into 360 degrees, with each of the 12 signs covering 30 degrees. Students learn the signs from Aries through Pisces, along with their Sanskrit names and order.
The course also explains the concept of Grahas. In Vedic astrology, the seven traditional planetary bodies—Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn—are considered along with Rahu and Ketu. Rahu and Ketu are treated as lunar nodes rather than physical planets. The course explains the distinction between the scientific meaning of “planet” and the astrological concept of “Graha.”
Students will further explore the geocentric perspective used in astrology, planetary movements, Rahu and Ketu, zodiac signs, houses, planetary relationships, and other foundational concepts. The course also introduces topics such as Dashas, transits, horoscope reading, Bhava charts, birth-time rectification, marriage compatibility, auspicious timing, remedies, Prashna astrology, and medical astrology.
The overall objective of Applied Astrology is to provide a structured foundation before moving into predictive techniques. The course is designed to progress from basic concepts to practical interpretation, allowing students to gradually develop their understanding through examples and regular practice. The sessions are planned to run weekly for approximately two hours, with recordings available for students who want to revisit the lessons.
Whether you are completely new to astrology or already familiar with some of its concepts, Astrology For You provides an opportunity to explore astrology as a structured subject and learn how its different principles can be applied to practical questions and real-life situations.
